Via a mirror, Heliostat is able to direct sunlight into your house. By calculating and adjusting the position of the mirror every second, this genius system is able to reflect sunlight onto the same spot all day long. This way it is possible to have an environmentally friendly lamp in your home or office. We have sold systems north and south of the equator, east and west of UTC. So, it doesn't matter where on earth you are, the Heliostat works anywhere! Our DIY solar tracking system is easy to install.

Kit#1 contains all the materials for this Heliostat. Only some basic tools and the sun are needed to install this system.

Heliostat suntrack system can also be used to rotate your solar panels directly towards the sun. Your will increase by at least 27% for azimuth tracked and 31% for both azimuth and inclination tracked.

How it works

Heliostat is a DIY solar tracking system. The suntracker works without light sensors. Via a mirror, the Heliostat is able to direct sunlight into your house. By calculating and adjusting the position of the mirror every second, this genius system is able to reflect sunlight onto the same spot all day long.
First, the suntracker needs to know the position of the sun (on that specific moment). This calibration procedure has to be done once at installation. The start and end point of the horizontal and vertical axles are committed. The controller will only work between these boundaries so the mirror will never collapse to something. The suntracker controller calculates where to move the motors to get the right reflection position for the mirror. The rotors in the system ables the Heliostat to adjust the mirror in the right position as the sun comes up and sets. With a dual axis, it has 2 operation modes:
  • 1. solar daylight lamp 
  • 2. tracking the sun to maximise solar panel output
The system operates continues to work for years without need to worry, even after power failure.

What is a Heliostat

A Heliostat (from helios, the Greek word for sun, and stat, as in stationary) is a device that, in general, tracks the movement of the sun. The device typically utilizes a mirror, which can be oriented throughout the day to redirect sunlight along a fixed axis toward a stationary target or receiver.

Improved accuracy

Although the system has a extremely acarate calculation algorithm some deviation will occur. To improve this it is now optional to save the target for every hour.
